Come March 17, Calgary will be flooded with green, along with traditional Irish music and copious amounts of Guinness, along with live performances, authentic Irish dinner’s and St. Paddy’s Day parties galore that will make the Irish proud.
Head out and celebrate good ol’ St. Paddy’s Day, Calgary style at these 24 different events happening around the city.
What: Join the Irish Cultural Society, for a night of fun and entertainment at their 31st Annual Green Tie Affair. This highly anticipated event will feature a delicious Irish meal followed by a traditional dance, so be sure to bring your green tie and dancing shoes!
What: Get the party started early for St. Paddy’s Day this year at the Big Rock Brewery Brewmaster’s Dinner at Gasoline Alley. Enjoy a four-course Irish-fusion dinner, each paired with a fitting Big Rock Brew all curated by Big Rock’s Brewmaster Paul Gautreau. After dinner guests will be entertained by a surprise musical performance that will toast to the occasion!
What: Bring the kids and celebrate St. Paddy’s Day at the market! There will be onstage entertainment by the Coshquin School of Irish Dance, along with a shamrock decorating station, a ‘Kiss the Blarney Stone for Good Luck’ photo booth and an opportunity to win $50 in Market Bucks if you guys how many gold coin are in the crate. Specific vendors will also have various St. Paddy’s themed products and activities happening, so go on down and check it out!

What: This will be one for the books- guaranteed! Start the day off with a $7 Irish breakfast paired with a $3 12oz Keith or Guinness, while listening to live bands, a DJ and watching Irish Dancers all day long. Then, whether you’re feeling like the hair of the dog or just a plain old fashioned brunch, join them for a hangover breakfast featuring a live band and DJ, the perfect end to a great 24 hours of green festivities.
What: National on 17th and Dandy Brewing Co. are pairing up to bring you an unforgettable St. Patrick’s Day. Dandy Brewing will be doing a tap takeover and will be serving their famous Dandy Dry Irish Stout, along with 4 other favourites. Dandy will also be bringing a stack of their favourite records to play on the sound system all night long. Festivities are scheduled to begin at 4pm!

What: Spend the day watching March Madness and World Classic Baseball, while consuming $4 green beer and $6 Guinness all day long. For those who would rather play sports, instead of watching them, all games will be FREE until 5pm!
What: This is a great spot to check out later in the day, as the first 100 people through the door AFTER 9pm win free perogies for a year! Aside from that great perk, they will also be offering $2.75 Bowls of Lucky Charms and $2.75 green beer; this is truly the place to be this St. Patrick’s Day!
What: Join over 1000 Calgarian’s at the 30th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Road Race, supporting the Calgary Roadrunners and the Canadian Diabetes Association. After the race you can look forward to some fun awards as you enjoy some authentic Irish stew and enter to win your weight in Village Beer!

What: Get a workout in and burn off some calories before you consume all those green beers, at this FREE 1.7km, 11.7km and 17km run. Dress in your best St, Patrick’s Day gear and be entered to win a prize for the best-dressed runner!
What: Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in a true, authentic Irish setting with the Irish Cultural Society. This is an event that is great for the whole family, as it features fun Irish music and dancing, along with traditional Irish food and drinks!
What: Included in your ticket to the Whisky Master class is a voucher to spend the evening celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with Willow Pars Wine & Spirits. At this festival, you will celebrate the spirit of the Irish as they highlight their incredible selection of beers, whiskeys and even spirits, while munching on true classic Irish dishes. What: With the luck of the Irish, you will be able to party as if you were in Ireland at this fun celebration at James Joyce Pub. There will be a full Irish menu, along with a live performance by Fraid Knot and pints of Guinness on special.
What: Get the party started early with $6 green beer, Guinness and Jameson starting at 10 am! There will also be Irish music and a ton of traditional Irish food specials for you to munch on throughout the day.
