You'll be able to drink Jello shots at these Calgary Stampede tents

UPDATE: The venue for this event has been changed to the Pig and Duke.

Beer might be most people’s go-to choice during the Calgary Stampede, but festival-goers may just find themselves with a new favourite beverage come July 6.

SLRRRP Shots, a new, gelatinous take on an old classic, will be coming north for their first-ever Canadian debut at the 2018 Calgary Stampede.

The shots are a lot like those good ol’ Jello shots you used to make for backyard parties, but this time around they don’t have the limiting side-effect of melting if not kept refrigerated — making them perfect for the infamously toasty Stampede Grounds.

The alcohol-infused shots are made with seaweed gelatin extract, meaning that they’re vegetarian-friendly and can keep form even in temperatures above 90°F (or 32.2°C to us up here in Canada).

The shots come in multiple flavours, including mango, peach, strawberry, watermelon, and blue raspberry.

They will be available at both the Cowboys Nightclub and Knoxville’s Tavern throughout the Stampede, and there will even be a SLRRRP event on the first day of the festivities.

So, who’s down for shots?
