A new company is bringing a cheaper movie-theatre experience to Canada.

Turkish company Sinemia has officially launched in Canada. Founded by Rifat Oguz, the company charges customers $10.99 to watch two movies per month in theatres.

A monthly membership includes:

  • Tickets for any theatre, any day, any showtime, any movie
  • 2D – 3D – IMAX – 4DX – DBOX – ScreenX *
  • The option to buy tickets in advance from home or at the theatre

The company also offers various membership plans, including a three-movie pass for $14.99.

Sinemia’s largest competitor, MoviePass, is currently only available in the US, which gives the company a Canadian advantage.

In a release, Sinemia’s founder, Rifat Oguz, said that his company has an advantage over MoviePass, because it offers “significant savings.”

“We are interested in building a movie ticket subscription service that will be around for the long haul,” says Oguz. “We are steadily growing by more than 50% each month and are seeing more than 20 million monthly visitors to our site globally. I am confident this success has much to do with our dedication to not only financial savings for our members, but also our ability to give them a high-quality movie theatre experience.”

Sinemia currently operates in the United Kingdom, Turkey, Australia, and the US.
