Simons officially opens its doors to Calgarians tomorrow, March 16 and Daily Hive was given the opportunity to get a sneak peak while catching up with La Maison Simons President and Chief Executive Officer, Peter Simons.

Spanning a total of 95,000 square feet with five floors in the Lancaster Building and three floors of TD Square, the only Calgary Simons store runs the entire city block on 2nd Street between Stephen Ave and 7th Avenue.

The 1919 building was restored and renovated, with local Calgarian firm, McKinley Burkart, leading Simons’ architectural and design plans. They did not disappoint. The space is aesthetically bright, clean, and full of colour giving off the perfect vibe to shop till you drop, or grab a quick essential while on your lunch break.

“For us, it’s always about the site and the partners. We’re a family business, family owned, and we need partners that understand what we want to do,” Peter Simons told Daily Hive. “Calgary came together for us and we think longer term. This is a great city with a great cultural and creative vibe.”

Upon arrival you can distinctly see the eight branded environments including Twik, Icône, Contemporaine, Miiyu, iFive, Djab, Le 31 and Edito.

The Quebec retailer also carries home fashions, Maison, for the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen, and has the Ève café, with its menu of hot and cold, sweet and savoury treats.

Welcome to accessible style, Calgary.
