Provision Restaurant: Modern European comfort food in the Beltline

There’s officially another restaurant you need to add to your must-try list.

Provision has opened in the former Boxwood Cafe space located at 340 13th Avenue SW in Central Memorial Park, and the eatery has already made the space its own.

Brought you by same folks behind Avec Bistro, Provision officially opened in early December.

Offering a unique menu of modern European dishes at affordable prices, Provision is one of a handful of new restaurants (Bridgette Bar, Foreign Concept, Deane House) in the city serving Calgarians fresh creations in a stylish atmosphere.

Since Provision is a mere two blocks from Avec, the head chef at both restaurants, Daniel Pizarro, will oversee the two kitchens while former MARKET pastry chef Kevin Yang will take care Provision’s sweet offerings (along with the house baked bread).

With a rotating selection comfort food like soups and sandwiches for midday eats, along with share plates with local protein and vegetables for dinner, Provision is a solid spot to head to for any meal, even brunch.

Sous Chef Mike Ellis will be heading up the weekend brunch menu which offers dishes such as steak and eggs and stuffed French toast with cheddar, maple roasted apple, rhubarb butter, and feuilletine. Brunch is served Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 3pm.

The restaurant will also serve local Paradise Mountain Organic Coffee, a great selection of wine, and not surprisingly, a delicious pastry program courtesy of Yang.

Provision Restaurant is open Tuesday to Friday from 11am to close, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm for brunch and 5pm to close for dinner.
