On November 10 the Vancouver Aquarium, will be hosting its annual Ocean Wise Chowder Chowdown at the Hyatt Regency in Calgary in order to raise awareness for sustainable seafood options. At this event Calgary foodies will have a chance to indulge themselves with delicious comfort food made by top Calgary chefs and enjoy some local craft beer.
During the Chowder Chowdown, 13 Calgary Chefs will be competing in front of a panel of esteemed judges to be crowned the 2015 Ocean Wise Chowder Champion by creating the ultimate original, and sustainable Chowder. All guests at the event will have a chance to cast their vote for the People’s Choice award winner.
“This annual event brings together Calgary’s culinary heavyweights and seafood lovers, united by their support for sustainable seafood,” said Ann-Marie Copping, Ocean Wise program manager. “This year marks the 10 year anniversary for the Ocean Wise program. What began with a small group of partners has now expanded across the country, and we continue to see incredible momentum in the sustainability movement.”
