Netflix's "binge scale" will make you feel bad about yourself

Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, The Good Wife – these are a few of the shows you’ve probably binge-watched at some point, but now you can feel your shame on a whole new level thanks to Netflix’s new “binge scale.”

The online streaming service made a fancy graphic displaying the shows that people watch the most in the shortest amount of time – “binge watching” is defined as watching two or more hours of the show per day – with thrillers, horror, and sci-fi themed shows topping the ranks.

If only two hours a day qualifies as binging on a show, then we all have more of a problem than we thought. Don’t lie, you’ve called in sick or skipped class to complete an entire season of Breaking Bad before. You’re not fooling anyone.

Sons of Anarchy, The Fall, American Horror Story, and The Walking Dead are among Netflix’s most popular shows to binge on (and yes, Breaking Bad is on there too).

According to Netflix, it’s the shows that “assault your senses” that are the most binge-worthy, while you’re less likely to consume shows with complex narratives at a rapid pace.

Interestingly, it also takes people longer to get through comedies like Arrested Development, Summer Heights High, and The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Netflix grabbed the data off of 100 serialized shows from 190 countries from October 2015 to May 2016.

How many of these shows have you binge-watched? Tell us in the comments below.
