Nature’s Path granola recalled for possible Listeria contamination

The next time you’re craving some crunchy granola goodness, be sure to check the box before you start eating.

On Wednesday, June 14 Nature’s Path Foods Inc. began recalling its Coconut & Cashew Butter Crunchy Granola from store shelves because of a possible Listeria contamination.

The packages are 720 grams and have a best before date on March 2, 2018. This product has been sold at Costco locations in Alberta, BC, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.

A Listeria contamination cannot be detected by smell or sight, the symptoms of those infected by the microbiological bacteria include fever, vomiting, muscle aches, neck stiffness, nausea, and headaches.

While there have been no reported illnesses linked to this product yet, The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is advising that affected packages should be thrown out or returned to the store where it was purchased.
