Mixed reactions to the newly elected Alberta PCs leader, Jason Kenney (VIDEO)

The Alberta Progressive Conservative government held their PC leadership convention over the weekend to vote in the party’s leader.

Candidates in the running were Byron Nelson, Richard Starke and Jason Kenney. With an impressive 75.4% of the vote coming in for Kenney, the Former MP and federal Conservative cabinet minister, is now the PC’s main man.

Political big wigs are supporting Kenney, praising his dedication and passion to propel Alberta forward. Federal Conservative Party leader Rona Ambrose’s full statement can be seen here.

But not everyone is convinced.

Twitter has been the main playing ground for protestors, calling Kenney out for his previous stances against the LGBT community and women’s rights. In the video below, Kenney’s title is “Anti-Abortion Activist.”

And in some cases, the push back from Albertans has started a Twitter feud.
