Talk about a power lunch!

Michelle Obama and Sophie Gregoire Trudeau dined together at Toronto’s Gusto 101 on Monday, “Just the two First Ladies and about 15 secret service men” wrote restaurant owner, Janet Zuccarini in a post on Instagram.

The former US first lady and feminist leader Gregoire Trudeau, wife to Canada’s current Prime Minister, were in town for a speaking engagement hosted by the Economic Club of Canada and Plan International Canada on Monday where Obama helmed the discussion on education and equality for girls and women.

The ladies’ relationship looks equally as solid as the bromance shared by their husbands who enjoyed a private dinner in Montreal earlier this year.

Zuccarini’s Southern Italian restaurant, Gusto 101 is kin to LA’s Felix Trattoria, was just recently named the best new restaurant in America.

According to Zuccarini’s Instagram account, “Michelle and Sophie took the private dining room to themselves and shared, Kale salad (of course!), grilled octopus, buffalo mozzarella, ravioli, shrimp pasta, shishito peppers.”

Just two weeks ago, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau was in our Vancouver office, and sat with our team to discuss Women Deliver.
