Man in life-threatening condition after fleeing Transit Peace Officers

A 40-year-old Calgary man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries following an arrest made at the Brentwood C-Train Station on Tuesday night.

According to a release from the Calgary Police Service, CPS officers were called to the station at around 10:30 pm to assist Transit Peace Officers with an arrest.

The officers at the station had been attempting to arrest the man during a routine fare check, though he resisted arrest and fled before he could be apprehended, the release states.

When CPS officers arrived on scene, the man was found injured and required CPR before being transported to the hospital. He remains in life-threatening condition as of 11:30 am Wednesday morning, according to the release.

It is stated that he was arrested a short while after initially fleeing the Transit Peace Officers.

Investigators are reviewing the CCTV footage of the incident, and have spoken with the Transit Peace Officers.
