You can fly between Calgary and Vancouver for $79 this summer

Forget the 12-hour road-trip through the Rockies, or, even worse, a drive across the seemingly never-ending prairies.

If you’re looking to get from Calgary to Vancouver, Kelowna, or Winnipeg this summer, you’re in luck.

Flair Airlines, an ultra-low-cost carrier operating only in Canada, is now offering flights from Calgary heading both east and west this summer for under $80 per one-way, nonstop flight.

Most roundtrip flights on offer are coming in at just under $160, which is quite the steal when you take into consideration just how expensive gas is getting as we creep closer to summer fuel prices.

The cheap flights were discovered by our friends over at YYC Deals, a flight deal-finding website that stays on top of all the best savings when it comes to flights out of Calgary International Airport.

The trips are generally available throughout June, July, August, September, and into mid-October of this year. The best way to find them is to simply punch where you want to go into Flair Air’s search tool, and then click around to find the cheapest date combinations.

Given that a one-way Greyhound bus ticket from Calgary to Vancouver generally costs between $60 and $80, we’d say that this is a pretty solid (and time-saving) deal.

Unfortunately, as Flair Air is a smaller airline, the availability of these flights is limited… meaning you should probably start planning that trip to the West Coast now, rather than later.
