Canada’s largest lottery game will be making its biggest expansion since its inception, with the changes going into effect on May 11, 2019.

Lotto Max announced on Friday that an additional weekly draw will be made every Tuesday, in addition to the existing Friday draw. The first Tuesday draw will be made on May 14.

With the introduction of the new second draw, lottery players will be able to see jackpots grow more quickly.

Another change also being made will be an increase to the value of the main jackpot, which will be able to reach a new ceiling of $70 million.

When Lotto Max was first introduced in 2009 to replace Lotto Super 7, it initially offered $50 million jackpots, eventually rising to $60 million in 2015.

The individual $1-million Maxmillions draws will continue to be offered when the main jackpot reaches and exceeds $50 million.

There is no change to the cost of play at this time.

The odds of winning the Lotto Max main jackpot is 1 in 33,294,800 per $5.00 play.
