This could be your last chance to enjoy one of Calgary’s favourite roller disco rinks.
Well, there’s no maybe about it, actually, because Lloyd’s Roller Rink – the only disco roller rink in Calgary, unsurprisingly – is barring its door for good come February 18.

The rink is closing up after its long-time owner passed away, though Calgarians will still have just under two months to get a skate in before the arcade games, colourful lights, and nostalgic choices of music are all gone for good.
It’s not all bad news, however, as the proceeds of the building’s sale will be going towards charity, according to Lloyd’s Roller Rink’s website.
The Last Ride event is planned for Wednesday, January 17 – one month before the actual last day of the iconic rink.
Attendance will cost each roller skater $5 admission, though it’s an extra $3 for anyone hoping to rent a pair of blades.
That Wednesday may prove to be a busy time to say your fondest farewells, as over 1,000 people are shown to be interested in the Facebook event.
That just mean more people to dance/skate with!
