All the epic eats to try during Calgary's week-long burger festival

This year Le Burger Week Calgary will run from September 1 to September 7, so block off your calendar and get out those stretchy pants.

This annual event has been operating since 2012 when the inaugural week went down in Montreal. Now, Le Burger Week has events across Canada, in Haiti, and some US cities as well.

This year there are four Calgary eateries competing for the title of their city’s best burger. The winning creation is typically offered at a special “burger price” for the public to taste and cast their votes on leburgerweek.com.

There will be winning burgers in several categories including People’s Choice, Most Creative, and Healthiest Burger. The celebration also sends undercover tasters all over the country to choose which creation will earn the Judges’ Choice title.

The Canadian Brewhouse & Grill: Taco Burger (Calgary Mahogany, Calgary Harvest Hills)

Description: Taco-seasoned beef burger with spicy jalapeño cheese, onions, lettuce, tomato, guacamole, salsa, sour cream and crunchy Doritos. This is all served on a fresh brioche bun with your choice of golden fries, rice or side salad.

Boogies Burgers: Jebb’s Burger

Description: A juicy 1/4 pound of ground Alberta Beef, a slice of Canadian Cheddar, two full strips of bacon, topped with our signature red sauce that has been delighting our fans since 1969, our bun is baked fresh daily, with traditional lettuce, tomato and onion. A butterflied quarter pound all beef wiener crowns this mouthwatering delight.

Description: 7.5oz Alberta beef patty stuffed with white cheddar, layered with peppered candied bacon, topped with all the groceries and our own garlic/chipotle aioli served on a Kaiser bun.
