Have you had poké yet? This super trendy food from Hawaii has landed in YYC in a big way, and there’s a new spot where you can check out this delish raw fish dish.

Kona Poke Co. is slinging customizable poké bowls on the +15, and you can expect long line ups for these glorious bowls packed with marinated seafood, rice, veggies, and more.

When it’s your turn at the counter, you pick how you want your poké bowl to play out–select your base (like rice or fresh greens), add your protein (salmon, octopus, ahi tuna, or even a vegan mix), and choose your sides, sauces, and toppings–look for things like cucumber, crab, masago, ginger, sesame seeds, avocado, and more.

The dish has been a rising trend in the U.S. and Canada for the past couple of years, and in 2016 casual restaurants devoted to poké have been popping up all over Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver.

Calgary is definitely getting in on the poké action; Kona is already planning a second location in the Beltline, and rival spot Po-ke just opened up, too.

Just a heads up, poké is the kind of food that restaurants don’t just let sit around, so Kona cautions that they’re only able to serve until they run out.
