Make your own kokedama at a workshop in Calgary

Aug 24 2016, 6:28 am

Ever wanted to make your own kokedama? Now’s your chance, as Monogram’s new Fifth Avenue Place cafe is hosting a workshop tomorrow.

For those who don’t know, “kokedama” means “moss ball” when directly translated from Japanese. It’s a single, elegant flower, herb, or plant with the roots completely encased in a ball of moss wrapped in soil.

Founder of Kokedama.ca Caine Chow will be on-hand to instruct people on how to make either a flowering azalea kokedama, or an arabica coffee kokedama to take home. You’ll learn everything it takes to transform a plant of your choice into a beautiful kokedama.

The ticket includes

  • Class instruction and workshop
  • 1 x Kokedama to make and take home
  • 1 x Monogram drink of your choice – extra drinks subject to charges

Not only will there be a great workshop to learn about all things kokedama, there will be great coffee on-hand as well.
