19-year-old Alberta man charged in murder of his 16-year-old girlfriend

A man has been charged with second-degree murder after a teenage girl was found dead in Grand Prairie, Alberta.

The girl was 16-year-old Hannah Sutton, a resident of Grand Prairie who was found dead on December 16, according to a release from Grand Prairie RCMP.

An autopsy confirmed that Sutton died as a result of a gunshot wound.

19-year-old Justice Watt-Blais, Sutton’s boyfriend at the time of her death according to the release, has been charged with second-degree murder.

Four other men have also been arrested, with charges pending for accessory after the fact to murder.

Watt-Blais will remain in custody until his appearance before the Grand Prairie Provincial Court on January 3, 2018.
