Inspiring father-daughter pep talk is the Monday morning start you need

Sep 26 2016, 8:19 pm

Mondays are hard.

There’s the whole getting out of bed thing. The showering and getting dressed angle.

Then you have to go to work, knowing that this is only the very beginning of what seems like an endless stretch of tasks, duties, and errands to be performed simply so you can sit back on Friday night and fall asleep on your couch at 8 pm, two-thirds through a glass of poor quality Pinot and about to start your second episode of Stranger Things while your friends send angry texts like, ‘Where the F are you?!’

But we digress.

The point is, Monday morning is likely the time in your life when you could use a little motivation to get up and get at’er.

Well, today’s your lucky day, because personal trainer and health and wellness coach, Ron Alston of DFG Health and Wellness (it stands for Destined for Greatness, obviously) posted the perfect video a few weeks back that will give you all the feels and make sure you head into your week with a winning attitude.

In the clip, Alston walks his 3-year-old daughter Aliya through an inspiring pep talk that will leave you feeling like the world is your oyster and all you have to do is shuck it.

After watching this, who knows, maybe this Friday you’ll even treat yourself to a Malbec of decent quality!

Since posting the video on September 7, the pep talk has now been viewed more than 16 million times. And it’s no wonder – the affirmations, the fact that Aliya is beyond adorable, and the positive display of strong parenting all combine to make us wish we had someone in our lives who would lead us through the same exercise everyday.

So happy Monday everyone, we’re going to get through this together.

And remember:
