The free ArtWalk will be in Calgary for its 35th year this weekend

It might be a little chilly out, but summer’s actually still around for another week and a half — meaning that right now is the perfect time to get out and about while you still can.

Luckily enough, the 2018 ArtWalk is set to take place this weekend, with nearly 20 local galleries opening their doors for everyday Calgarians and art connoisseurs alike.

A map provided by ArtWalk shows where each gallery can be located and urges participants to create their very own art walk through the city.

“The beauty of the event is that you can customize your own walk — take in just a few galleries or try to see them all,” the website states.

This is the 35th year that the annual event has taken place in Calgary, and due to its family-friendly (and free!) nature, it has been consistently welcoming to all attendees.

Anyone looking to take part is advised to stay hydrated, wear good shoes, and potentially look into renting a bike or car-share if they’re planning to check out all the galleries.

A full map of the event can be found below, and a list of the participating galleries can be found at the event’s website.
