Rotary/Mattamy Greenway 150 Family Shindig will span four parks throughout Calgary

Aug 31 2017, 1:44 am

Calgary’s parks will be packed this weekend to celebrate the Rotary/Mattamy Greenway, and those who have completed the 150 Summer Challenge in honour of Canada 150.

The challenge was put forward to Calgarians to track 150 km on the new greenway this summer. Those who succeeded will be awarded a commemorative medal on the main stage of the South Glenmore Park, in front of various members of each level of government—and yes, Mayor Naheed Nenshi will be there.

While some people didn’t quite manage the 150 km over the summer, everyone in attendance will be awarded a free BBQ lunch at any of the four event locations—Mahogany Park, Cityscape Music Park, Shouldice Park, and South Glenmore Park—along with screens displaying the main stage, live music, and activities.
