Flames select Matthew Tkachuk 6th overall at NHL Draft

They were hoping he would fall, and he did.

The Calgary Flames used their sixth overall pick to select Matt Tkachuk in the NHL draft. The 6’1″, 195-pound forward was on the Memorial Cup champion London Knights, and played on a line with Mitch Marner and Christian Dvorak.

The left-handed winger put up 107 points in 57 regular season games, and stepped it up even more in the playoffs with 20 goals and 40 points in 45 games.
