The Calgary Flames used their sixth overall pick to select Matt Tkachuk in the NHL draft. The 6’1″, 195-pound forward was on the Memorial Cup champion London Knights, and played on a line with Mitch Marner and Christian Dvorak.
The left-handed winger put up 107 points in 57 regular season games, and stepped it up even more in the playoffs with 20 goals and 40 points in 45 games.
