Temperatures are rising, but that doesn’t mean you’ve got to put your skis away for the season just yet.

You can enjoy Canada’s best spring skiing at Banff Sunshine Village right through to May 21st. All lifts are still open and the mountain has a base of 5″4, making it ideal for spring sliding.

All you’ve got to do is grab your sunnies and hit the Rockies this coming long weekend to enjoy an awesome mix of snow and sunshine at the highly-anticipated 90th annual Slush Cup.

Chances are you’ll be coming home with a goggle tan but it’s going to be 100% worth it. So, to help inspire your last-minute long weekend plans, we’ve rounded up five ridiculously fun things you can enjoy at Banff Sunshine Village.

Skiing and Snowboarding

If you didn’t already know, this May long weekend is why Sunshine is world famous for the best spring ski and snowboard conditions around. With all lifts still open, four terrain parks, and uninterrupted mountain views, spring rinsing at Banff Sunshine Village takes on new heights.

Watergate Banked Slalom

If you’re feeling adventurous, you’ve got to test your balance on the Watergate Banked Slalom on May 19. Picture a combination of skiing and surfing in a competitive race where you’ll have to try to stay afloat as you cross an iceberg pool. It’s free to participate so you have no reason not to try, plus you could even win a prize for being the fastest skier or snowboarder. Visit the event tent in the village from 10 am to 11:30 am to register!

Untracked Spring Concert Series

Add some live music to your weekend at the Untracked Spring Concert Series taking place on the center stage outside of Trappers. On May 19 and 20, electro-soul and hip-hop band Busty and the Bass will be performing free concerts just for your enjoyment when you have a Banff Sunshine Pass.

SlushShine Rail Jam

Put your ski and snowboard skills to the test on May 20 at the SlushShine Rail Jam where you’ll get to test your mettle on metal structures (over water). This is the ultimate adventure sports risk taker’s competition and the best part is that every participant gets a prize. So even if you fall after a couple of seconds, you’ll walk away with something. It costs $20 to take part in the jam and you can register at the event tent in the village between 10 and 11:30 am.

Annual Slush Cup

Now, the event you’ve been waiting for – the 90th annual Slush Cup. If you’re going all-out you might as well do it in style on the last day of the season by participating in this exciting free event. You’ll be skiing or snowboarding down a run into an icy pool of water with the goal of skimming across the pool until you hit the finish line. Register at the event tent in the village from 8 to 9 am and get ready to have the thrill ride of your life. Plus, you’ll even have a crowd cheering you on for motivation!

Spend this Slush Cup long weekend at Banff Sunshine Village. Their Spring Pass will pay for itself over the extended long weekend while allowing you to ski and ride as much as you want. New Mobile Tickets are also available that conveniently download directly to your Ski Banff App for iPhone and Android.
