Beakerhead's Engineered Eats under $10

Experience something eggs-perimental for under $10 from chefs and bartenders at Engineered Eats presented by Beakerhead from now until Sunday, September 20.

For this years Engineered Eats the participants must take what they know about eggs and create a dish or cocktail.

Below are their different creations:

80th & Ivy Modern Kitchen

Created a Truffle infused custard with crispy serrano ham and a basil caviar garnish.

Where: 1127, 17 Ave SW

Cost: $10

Bank & Baron P.U.B.

Concocted the Kentucky Peach Sour: bourbon, peach schnapps, egg whites, lemon juice, simple syrup, bitters, garnished with agar pearls (2 oz. alcohol).

Where: 125, 8 Ave SW

Cost: $9.50

The Beltliner

 

Designed Devilish Eggs: hard boiled egg whites, 68.3°C sous vide yolks, shallots, dijon foam and cornichons. They also created Dynamic Whiskey Sour: Bourbon, sugar, lemon, egg white (1 oz. alcohol).

Their creations are the wingless devil, which is a deviled egg with blue cheese and frank’s Red Hot filling. You can also try the Smoked Pavlovian: smoked banana between two meringue cakes, topped with sweet whipped cream, dark chocolate shavings and a cherry.

Cost: Wingless Devil $5.99 and the Smoked Pavlovian Split is $5.49

The Towering Inferno: Chocolate baked egg yolk gelato on a red velvet waffle, topped with farmers gunk then torched.

Buttermilk Fine Waffles

Try this fine waffle, The Floating Alaska: Buttermilk waffle, vanilla bean ice cream, meringue, crème anglaise, and raspberry coulis.

Catch Restaurant & The Oyster Bar

 

Designed this little dish Catch Style with Egg Gel and Pearls, bacon sand, rye tuile, rosemary incense.

Where: 100, 8 Ave SE, Calgary

Cost: $6

Container Bar

They created the 1131 Sling, which contains gin, cherry brandy, Cointreau, pineapple and lime juice, benedictine, pineapple egg white foam and grenadine soaked peaches (2 oz. alcohol).

Flipp’n Burgers

Try their Crème egg milkshake for under $10.

Osteria de Medici

The Golden Gin Fizz contains gin, lemon, sugar, organic whole egg, soda (2 oz. alcohol).

Ox & Angela Restaurant

Has made Arzak Egg, which contains Egg with Chorizo and egg sauce, garlic chives and migas.

Winebar Kensington

 

 

A different sort of treat, that contains 64.5°C egg yolk, fried egg white foam, and bacon powder brioche.
