With cold temperatures on the horizon, creating your own comfort dishes at home is starting to sound quite appealing. But if you want to make a homemade pizza, how often do you opt for the pre-made doughs? There is no need to feel guilty, we’ve all taken the easy way out! What if there was someone willing and able to take you and your friends or colleagues step by step through the process?

Calgary has the perfect pizza teacher:  Robert Jewell, the Executive chef from Double Zero Pizza, who manages to find the free time to run the classes, in between running the kitchen at both locations of the popular pizza joint and hosting his own TV show, A is for Apple on Gusto TV.

The pizza making class at Double Zero is fully customizable and the experience can be tailored for groups of 10 to 20 people. Diners will enjoy learning Chef Rob’s Ten Pizza Commandments, while getting step by step instructions on how to master the art of creating a Neopolitan pizza pie.

This class is a hands on experience, so you’ll have to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty while learning to stretch the dough and throw it in the air–yes, like in the movies!

Want to cover your pizza with Double Zero’s tangy pizza sauce or a white roasted garlic base? How about topping such as Wagyu pepperoni or White Gold Fior Di Latte cheese ? In the class, you have your choice of their range of locally-sourced toppings.

Once your pizza is ready for the 600 degree Fahrenheit oven, you won’t have to wait long as your cheesy creation takes mere seconds in the oven until it’s fully cooked. Then it’s time to kick back, enjoy some fresh pizza, a glass of wine and rejoice in all the fun you just had making your own food.

This custom pizza event makes for great team-builders or a night out with friends and can cost as little as $30 per person (not including wine pairings). Best of all, you will leave with a pizza dough bible, so you can re-create Chef Rob’s Ten Commandments and enjoy some homemade Neapolitan pizza in the warmth of your own home.
