Following the European tradition with a modern flair, Cured is Calgary’s newest delicatessen destination.
Featuring handcrafted meats along with take-home or dine-in meals, owner/operator Dale Greene is eager to not only honour the location’s original owners, but take the deli into the future. Previously, the site was the European Delicatessen & Bakery; Greene and the Cured crew transformed the space over the summer.
For Greene, that means making Cured a family-friendly spot with something for everyone, from bratwurst to breakfast sausage, cabbage rolls to Calgarian staples like Fiasco Gelato, and much more.
Cured makes over 2,000 pounds of meat and sausage in-house per month. Among the standard offerings are some stand-outs, like blood mortadella, and ham stuffed mortadella, and a line of nitrate and phosphate free products. And of course, you can get wieners and smokies and salami, too.
For those looking for a sit-down opportunity, Cured is serving up breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunch. Grab a table in the bright, welcoming space, designed by Amanda Hamilton, whose talents are behind the aesthetics of Native Tongues Taqueria and Rodney’s Oyster House.
