7 must-try crazy burger creations in Calgary

A burger is not just “a burger.” At least that’s never the case at these seven Calgary restaurants who are serving up some creative, outrageous, epic, and even downright crazy burger creations.

The Tokyo Bun at Regrub

So, basically this is a sushi burger. Yep, a sushi burger! Regrub’s Tokyo Bun is made with a sushi-grade tuna patty, teriyaki, wasabi, aioli, pickled ginger, nori chips, fresh avocado pate, and a bun made of sushi rice.

Doug’s “Don’t Fear the Reaper” Burger at Boogie’s Burgers

You’d better come hungry, and with your doctor on speed dial. This one’s got four all beef patties, four slices of bacon, a butterflied 100% all beef wiener, two slices of cheddar, a fried egg, boogies signature red sauce, lettuce, tomato and onion, all topped off with a mini corn dog. Because, why not?

‘The Manimal’ Burger at Anju

Get ready for a serious twist on the burger at Anju. Calgary’s favourite spot for Korean-style small bites (and big bites, too) have “The Manimal” on the menu: kimchi-cured wagyu brisket, kimchi, mushrooms, cheese curds, and the option to add a fried egg (you know you want to).

Ramen Burger at Paper Street

Someone has to keep the dream of a Ramen Burger in YYC alive. You’ll find one on the menu at Paper Street. It’s got a 6oz brisket patty, aged cheddar, kewpie mayo, sunny egg, butter soy mushrooms, and kimchi slaw, all on a ramen noodle bun. Bonus: Keep an eye for their Friday burger special. It’s usually on the insane side.

Eggs Benny Stuffed Burger at Naina’s Kitchen

Naina’s Kitchen is known for their mind-blowing stuffed burgers, and with choices like a mac and cheese stuffed burger, or one full of poutine, the Eggs Benny is definitely something you don’t see every day. This burger is stuffed with poached eggs, ham and hollandaise, and decked out in lettuce, mayo, and a lemon marmalade.
