Love golf? Like volunteering for a charity? Now’s your chance to combine the two at the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open in Calgary this August.

The week-long LGPA golf tournament will be held from Monday, August 22 to Sunday, August 28 at Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club.

Competitors this year include world no.1 Lydia Ko, who won the tournament last year, when it was held in BC.

Calgary Meals on Wheels has been granted a fundraising concession stand at the CP Ladies Open and is looking for volunteers to help run it.

Volunteers will get free access to watch the golf before and after their shift, and free use of a shuttle service operating from Spruce Meadows to the Priddis Golf & Country Club.

You’ll also be provided with a burger, sandwich or sausage lunch, plus water, coffee, and a bag of chips to keep you going.

And if you have a friend who’s also interested in volunteering, you can choose to share a shift, so you can take turns working and enjoying the tournament.

Calgary Meals on Wheels is a not-for-profit organization that prepares, packages and delivers 1,700 meals each day to Calgarians who need meal service at home.

A proportion of the takings from the concession stand will go towards helping fund the organization’s work and help Calgarians maintain independence in their own homes.

If you are interested in volunteering, contact Richelle at [email protected] to indicate which shift works for you. For more details, head to mealsonwheels.com/upcoming-events.
