It’s no surprise that Canadians are proud AF to call our beautiful country home.

And leading up to our fine country’s 151st birthday, Canadians have taken to social media to share their love for the Great White North.

CrowdRiff, an AI-powered content marketing platform, started digging on Instagram to see what exactly Canadian-related content Canucks have been sharing online over the past year.

The results revealed that just on Canada Day last year, Canadians posted 8,914 photos of fireworks, while Canucks living and travelling abroad shared 1,373 Canadian-related posts.

But that’s not all, over the last year, Canadians have posted:

  • 3,088 bottles of maple syrup
  • 8,073 poutines
  • 12,217 maple leaves
  • 5,639 beavers
  • 1,218 Mounties
  • 2,846 Canadian flags

To determine what the most shared Canadian photos were, a spokesperson from the CrowdRiff team told Daily Hive Toronto, the platform uses over 10 different attributes to find social media visuals being shared around the world.

This includes everything from location tags to hashtags, keywords, and more.

CrowdRiff used artificial intelligence along with some help from its data science team to parse the millions of photos being shared on social and surface this Canada Day themed content.

So if you’re looking for inspiration for what to post this Canada Day, you might want to go with poutine, beavers and maple leaves.
