Flashlight Nights: Corn Maze in the Dark

  • What: Think navigating a corn maze in the daylight is hard? Think again!

Music of the Ice Skating’s Greatest Hits 

  • What: Enjoy a spectacular evening reliving the journey of famous figure skating routines from the past to present with pianist, Tommy Banks and host Jamie Salé, World Champion, and Olympic gold medalist.

Virtual reality Hospital of Horror

  • What: Get spooked silly at SmartyPantz escape room’s Hospital of Horror, a terrifying VR experience.
  • When: Select nights throughout October, and extended to November 6.

Calgary Gem and Mineral Show 2017

  • What: The Calgary Gem & Mineral Show returns to Calgary for its seventh year in a row, and this year will include more than 60 gem, mineral, and jewellery vendors.
  • When: Friday, October 20 to Sunday, October 22
  • Time: 1 to 9 pm on Friday, 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, and 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday
  • Where: Big Four Building – 1898 Macleod Trail SE
  • Tickets: Online or at the door, $10 for three day ticket, $7 for one day ($7/weekend and $5 day/day for seniors/students). Children 12 and under get in free.

Make a Noise

  • What: New Works Calgary is proud to present the Meitar Ensemble from Tel-Aviv, Israel, under the direction of one of Europe’s finest interpreters of new music, conductor Pierre-André Valade, featuring the music of Philippe Leroux.

Pretty Archie Live

  • What: Pretty Archie continues to push the genre lines of Folk, Bluegrass, Country and Blues creating a uniquely Pretty Archie sound. The 10 song album is a collection of their best songwriting to date, addressing themes of love, loss, life and the forces that drive all three.

ATB Storytellers Series with Raghav

Alberta Diabetes Foundation: Halloween Howl Walk + Run

  • What: Dress up in your best Halloween Costume (that allows you to move) and come on down to the annual run and walk in support of life-diabetes research. Last year they raised $110,000 – let’s make this year even better!

  • Time: Registration opens at 9 am

  • Admission: Fundraise a minimum of $100 to enter

Autumn Pumpkin Festival 

  • What: Celebrate fall in the most appropriate way possible! Every weekend in October you will have the opportunity explore the patch and pick out the perfect pumpkin to bring home, along with the Petting Zoo, Corn Maze, Fun Farm and more. Don’t miss The Great Pumpkin Explosion, where a pumpkin filled with candy is exploded daily!

Take a day trip out to Drumheller

  • What: Visit Drumheller to see the hoodoos, or go to the Royal Tyrrell Museum.

Day of the Dead Celebrations

  • What: Celebrate the Mexican holiday Day of the Dead at Marlborough Mall. Enjoy four hours of free family fun including Latin dance performances by Havana Cuban Dance Studio, sugar pumpkin decorating, face painting, colour your own sugar skull mask and more!

The Mavericks

Check out the Deerfoot City Rec Room

  • What: Cineplex just opened a Rec Room in Calgary, complete with two restaurants, a huge arcade, and a virtual reality room.
