Cold and snowy few days ahead for Calgary this weekend

Everyone better start doing their Chinook dances, and soon.

The worst that a Canadian winter has to offer is knocking on Calgary’s door as we head into the weekend, with snowy skies and chilly winds making outdoors feel like -29°C at its coldest.

While it may not be the most bone-chilling freeze we’ve ever experienced –this winter, even – it is still recommended to stay indoors when you can, and to bundle up when you can’t!

Friday is looking to be much the same as Thursday, continuing the cold streak and seeing a chance of snow. By nighttime, the wind will be turning the low of -21°C into what feels like -29°C.

Snow will keep falling through Saturday, though Saturday night and Sunday will see a short respite before it falls once more to end off the weekend.

Keep an eye out on Sunday during the day for a chance at some Vitamin D, though we can’t guarantee it’ll penetrate through all those layers of clouds, scarves, mittens, and toques.

At this point, we’d welcome a Chinook headache.
