We wouldn’t dig out the sunscreen and frozen drinks just yet, but Calgary will be seeing significantly warmer temperatures than normal this week.
That’s mostly because “normal” has recently been “feeling like -42°C” but we won’t let that rain on eternally freeze our parade, now will we?

This Friday will see the high of the week with a solid 5°C (no, we didn’t forget to put a minus in front of that number, it’s actually above freezing) and the week’s coldest is looking to be a reasonable -9°C on Sunday night.
Only a few flakes will be a possibility this week, with a 60% chance of flurries on Saturday, though the rest of the week is nothing but clear skies and the occasional cloud.
Expect temperatures to hover around freezing before the real cold hits over the weekend.
Not a bad change of pace from what we’ve been seeing, but there is still a long winter ahead of us – so you’d better make the most of whatever warm days you can get!
