Police investigating suspicious death in southwest Calgary

The Calgary Police Service is currently investigating a suspicious death that occurred in the Manchester Industrial area on Wednesday morning.

According to a release that was issued by the police, officers were called to check on the welfare of a man on the 5700 block of 2nd Street SW at around 10 am on Wednesday.

When they arrived on the scene the man was found to be suffering with multiple stab wounds, and though CPR was attempted, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death has been deemed suspicious by the Calgary Police, and an autopsy of the body is pending.

The Homicide Unit is investigating the death, and the police are asking that anyone with information come forward by contacting their non-emergency line at 403-266-1234, or anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers online or at 1-800-222-8477.
