The party will run throughout the day and into midnight (obviously), with performances taking place throughout the day by the Chinook Country Line Dancer, a line-up of local artists, and a Countdown Ball presented by Downtown Calgary.

For the little Calgarians that might not be able to stay up right until 12:01 on January 1, there will also be a kid’s countdown at 9 pm.

Ice sculptures will line Stephen Avenue, and a firework display will end off the night as soon as the countdown hits zero.

There will be hot chocolate provided by Good Earth to keep you warm late into the night, and the first 2,000 attendees will get a complimentary cup of hot cocoa.

Not a bad way to end off 2017.
