Calgary musician Aaron Pollock has combined two things he loves to create the ultimate tribute song: the Blue Jays and Taylor Swift.
In celebration of the Jay’s clinching a spot in this year’s MLB playoffs for the first time in 21 years, Pollock teamed up with another local band, Swift Olliver, to record a “’92,” a play on Swift’s hit “22.” The fun track sings the praises of some of this season’s star players while looking back fondly on the previous Jay’s golden years when the team won the World Series back-to-back in 1992 and 1993.
“We hope that Taylor sees it, we hope that the Blue Jays organization sees it,” Pollock’s manager, Stephane Labine, said in a statement. “One of my personal hopes is that during a playoff game, it’s like an anthem, with the crowd singing our track.”
The video has since received over 13,000 views on YouTube and has made headlines on news stations nationwide.
