Experience vibrant culture at the Calgary Japanese Festival 2015

Dec 19 2017, 10:32 am

The 5th annual Calgary Japanese Festival, or Omatsuri, will be filled with an abundance of food and arts that celebrates Japanese culture in our local community and around the country.

There will be no shortage of activities and entertainment that captures traditional Japanese culture. Expect to see performances from Midnight Taiko Kai (Calgary’s Japanese drumming group), Minyo Dancers, the Klick Crew and several martial arts demonstrations.

In addition to these live performances, there will be a Beer Garden, Sake tasting, Anime presentation, Kimono dressing demonstration, Japanese sword display and traditional blacksmith demonstration.

To see the full schedule of events happening on Saturday, visit the festival’s website.

The Japanese festival would not be complete without the chance to try some delicious Japanese cuisine. You’ll find an array of sushi, mochi rice cakes, yakitori, soba and so many other amazing dishes.
