The best Calgary museums to visit this International Museum Day
Bet you didn’t know International Museum Day is this Friday, May 18, until about a half second ago — or maybe you did. Regardless, we wanted to make sure you were aware of the best museums to visit in Calgary!

The Military Museums
Calgary’s Military Museums is the second largest military museum in the country and is where you can find around 200 years worth of Canadian military history. Check out Canadian art of the First World War along with artifacts and stories about the war scattered throughout the museum.

Glenbow Museum
Glenbow Museum showcases Western Canadian arts and culture through historic and contemporary pieces. Enjoy the works of Frida Kahlo, and take a peek at John Will’s interesting photography — both exhibitions will be up until May 21.

Telus Spark
Have a love for science? If you find yourself fascinated by chemical reactions, static electricity, or kinetics, then this is the place for you! Unleash that science aficionado at Telus Spark.
Hours: 10 am to 4 pm

Admission: Youth, $16, Adult, $20
Heritage Park Historical Village
No other museum will transport you into Canada’s past quite like Heritage Park, with most stores, houses, and machinery being original pieces of Western Canadian history. Employees are in costume and are deeply involved in their roles — you’re sure to forget you are in 2018.

Hangar Flight Museum
If you have a “thing” for aircraft you won’t want to skip this museum! Come and take a look at the first Canadian designed warplane, along with historic commercial planes spanning decades. Watch the evolution of flight with the vast variety of aircraft at the Hangar Flight Museum.
