We are officially in the full swing of fall, and while the weather is getting colder, the food and beverage scene in Calgary still hot.

Foodies in the city are prepping their stomachs for the holiday season, and November is the perfect warm up for this. It’s time to get in the groove of eating, drinking, and being merry.

With this incredible lineup of events all month long, how could we not be excited to gear up and take some seriously epic food down during one-of-a-kind experiences?

Taste for Adventure

What do drool-worthy menus created by award-winning chefs, appetizing special events, and one of a kind culinary experiences have in common? They will all be featured during an epic food fest called Taste for Adventure – and you’re definitely going to want to get in on the action. Taking place in the stunning scenic locations of Banff and Lake Louise, the culinary adventure spans over a whopping 16 days, from October 25 to November 9, so clear your schedule; it’s time to start planning your trip.

Willow Park Wines & Spirits’ 24th Charity Wine Auction

Head to the 24th annual Willow Park Wines & Spirits Charity Wine Auction and find 20 food station and 75 famous wines from around the world. After a fast paced and thrilling live auction the floor will be cleared so people can dance the night away and party. This year the theme for this annual auction is ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ so dress accordingly.

Wine & Bingo

B-I-N-G-O with V-I-N-O! Join It’s Date Night at The Met for Wine + Bingo every second Tuesday night. A fun night of Bingo, wine drinking, and wine themed prizes. Guests of Wine + Bingo will be offered any appetizer and a glass of 6oz house wine or a pint of beer for $20.

Casks For A Cause 2017

Give A Mile, in partnership with The Pig and Duke are excited to present to you another edition of Casks For a Cause. Starting at exactly 6:10 pm, 15 local breweries will tap their respective casks to raise money to help those in need of visiting with a loved one who is critically ill or dealing with a palliative illness.

Gather: Second Annual Harvest Dinner

Feast on six courses showcasing Alberta’s wild gastronomic beauty and the talents of a stellar line-up of local chefs. The Junction theatre techs will be cooking up their own magic, projecting celebrated food and wine moments in film in the Flanagan theatre. Start with a glass of bubbly, sample hors d’oeuvres, and soak up the atmosphere of Calgary’s oldest theatre. Each ticket holder will receive a charitable tax receipt for $50, which is the portion donated directly to Theatre Junction Society for new art programming at the GRAND.

Drake Yoga & Brunch

It’s Date Night invites you to bring your own mat and water bottle, and get in on some yoga and brunch fun. Stretch out your muscles with some Drake Yoga and Brunch at Commonwealth. After an hour-long vinyasa class you’ll be able to enjoy a custom brunch crafted by Chef Pigot from Home and Away.

On November 25 head to MARKET for mimosas, a three-course brunch and stimulating conversation led by our featured speaker, Jill Drader. This event is presented by ACE which is an acronym for Activate, Cultivate and Empower. The intention behind this brunch series is to create a platform for connection – activating bold, fierce conversations with a network of inspiring women who have a similar desire to empower other women.

Little Vegan Holiday Market

Adorable plant based bakery Soy Milk and Vinegar will be kicking off a market series called The Little Vegan Market in November. The market will be filled with a variety of vegan vendors with plenty of tasty treats and awesome products for everyone.

Savour 17 Ave SW: walking tour of RED mile (retail and entertainment district)

A tour guide will greet you at CIBO restaurant on 17th Avenue SW near the corner of 9th Street. From there head to Made by Marcus Micro Creamery, Ollia, Frenchie Wine Bar, Ox Bar de Tapas, and finally, finish at Anju Restaurant. Don’t worry about tabs, tax, and tips – just show up ready to walk and eat!

Sunday Brunch and a Calgary Farmers’ Market Tour

Meet J. Webb Wine Merchants at The Calgary Farmers’ Market where you’ll receive a Yum Bakery pastry, Mediterranean salad, assortment of fruit, Analog coffee, and wine tasting. From there, stroll over to the farmer’s market and hear stories and experience tastings at ten different market vendors offering fresh fruits, vegetables, fruit wines, juices, bison, beef, pork, and cheeses. You’ll be seated for brunch and need to stand for about an hour at the market. All guests receive recipes, a shopping list, and a market bag. This November, Calgary Food Tours is bringing back everyone’s favourite, Craving Kensington.
