The return of Johnny Gaudreau was expected to help the Calgary Flames on Sunday night, but I don’t think anyone expected it to help this much. The Flames put eight goals past Anaheim Ducks goaltender Jonathan Bernier, beginning with Gaudreau’s goal 2:09 into the first period.
Carlyle says in post game interview Gibson couldn't come in because "he had diarrhea". Bernier also crapped the bed tonight. #ANAvsCGY

That set the stage for the rest of the game, as eight different Flames scored on the night: Gaudreau, Troy Brouwer, Alex Chiasson, Matt Stajan, Sam Bennett, Dougie Hamilton, Sean Monahan, and Mark Giordano. Thirteen Flames players recorded at least a point, with eight players finishing with multiple points.
That was first time the Flames scored eight goals at home since an 8-2 win vs. Pittsburgh on March 1, 2000. Sam Bennett was three years old.
