What: This could be your last chance to enjoy one of Calgary’s favourite roller disco rinks. Well, there’s no maybe about it, actually, because Lloyd’s Roller Rink – the only disco roller rink in Calgary, unsurprisingly – is barring its door for good come February 18. Come say good-bye to the roller rink we all grew up with at their “Last Ride” happening exactly a month before the doors are closed.
When: Wednesday, January 17
Time: 7 to 11 pm
Where: Lloyd’s Roller Rink – 7520 Macleod Trail SE
What: Be prepared to be blown away with delectable food as six top chefs from across Canada interrupts each other’s signature dishes. This event is not only delicious, but many of the proceeds go towards Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids, which have already served over 75,000 children thus far. Come hungry and eat the highest quality dishes while raising money for an important cause – it’s a win win!
What: On it’s grand tour, the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour is stopping in Calgary to give us a taste of some of the best films that were screened at the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival last November. Expect films that truly capture the essence of adventure and the great outdoors throughout the world.
What: Come along on a journey of discovery with Lunch Box Theatre’s new production as part of High Performance Rodeo. This one woman show, created by award-winning Calgary actress Michelle Thrush, uses real moments and real memories to tell the story of how her Grandmother impacted her life as she transforms from a child to an elder throughout the show.
