Bridgette Bar: New food and drink spot opening on 10th Avenue

Dec 13 2016, 1:20 am

Get ready to have another option when you’re hungry for a cocktail and some eats in an eye-catching space. Bridgette Bar opens up this month and aims to bring its “chef-driven” bar concept to Calgary’s Design District.

Located at 739 10th Avenue in a former furniture shop, Bridgette Bar will boast a rustic-chic mid-century vibe, complete with exposed beam ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, and open-flame cooking. (Just peek at their retro-fueled graphics for a sense of what aesthetic they’re going for.)

Open Tuesdays through Sundays from 11 am to 1 am, Bridgette Bar has a trim brunch menu featuring elevated comfort fare, like a Smoked Turkey Benedict with Sage Hollandaise, or French Toast with housemade jam, bacon, and maple syrup.

A more expansive dinner menu runs the gamut from bar snacks (Eggplant Fies, Roasted Olives, Red Curry Cashews) to small plates (BBQ Pork Pate, Braised Rabbit on Toast, Grilled Octopus), to a full section dedicated to veggies (Roasted Cauliflower, Charred Brussel Sprouts, Grilled Sweet Potato), pizzas and pastas, and larger plates (Grilled Farm Chicken, Roasted Half Duck, Double Cut Pork Chop).

For beverages, Bridgette Bar has a nice selection of global white and red wines by the bottle or glass ($8.50 to 12 pricing per glass), domestic and import beers (including BC and Alberta craft brews), and a roster of classic and signature craft cocktails ($12 to 14)–among them a Perfect Martini; very mid-century chic.

Slated to to open Tuesday, December 13, Bridgette Bar is accepting reservations via OpenTable.
