Beakerhead and Wordfest present memories and the human brain with Dr. Julia Shaw
Dr. Julia Shaw is coming to Calgary to talk about her new book, The Memory Illusion.
Shaw will be holding a presentation followed by a question and answer period in which she discusses the absolute centrality of memory to our existence and the ways that it can go awry, such as developing false memories in extreme cases.
Shaw says the truth of memories is they aren’t the most accurate record of the past, not in the way we think. Memories have the potential to create self-deception and even outright fabrication.
The Memory Illusion will offer insights into the human brain, and Dr. Shaw will answer all the burning questions you have relating to memory.
