Want to see cute animals and learn where your food comes from? Bring your family for the Aggie Days during the Agriculture Barn and Western Event Centre at Stampede Park, in Calgary.

Families can experience the farm life, explore the agriculture industry, and enjoy real-life cowboy shows in the heart of the city. The event (which is free admission, BTW) will happen on Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15.

For the Saturday, event goers will have the opportunity to see the stock dogs trial. Handlers and their stock dogs will have to move three sheep through a defined course into a pen, and whoever makes completes the course the fastest wins. If you are a handler and want to compete, you still have time to register. Calgary Stampede Agriculture Entry Office is accepting applications until 4 pm on Friday, March 9.

For those coming in on Sunday, attendees can experience the Extreme Cowboy Race, which showcases horses and riders maneuvering through a series of obstacles. If you think you have the skills for it, the deadline for registration is March 29, at 4 pm.

Remember, admission for Aggie Days is free, so you can check out both days of event and bring the entire family along at no extra charge. Event coordinators are encouraging guests to bring non-perishable food to donate for the Calgary Food Bank.

We’ll see you at the races!
