Where to enjoy an affogato in Calgary

You like coffee. You like ice cream. Why not enjoy them together? Nope, we aren’t talking about coffee-flavoured ice cream. An affogato is an Italian dessert that consists of a scoop (or more) of ice cream or gelato, with espresso poured over it.

Affogato means “to drown,” and that’s just what happens to that mound of ice cream when it’s smothered in espresso. And, hey, it’s a drink that’s a dessert and a dessert that’s a drink…that lets you get away with warming up with something hot that’s based on summer’s favourite treat: ice cream!

There are a few places in Calgary where you can enjoy an excellent affogato.
