An 11-year-old singing prodigy from Vancouver has completed her challenge to sing 80 anthems in 80 countries to benefit orphaned and abandoned children around the world.

Since November, Capri Everitt and her family have been travelling the globe, on her Around The World In 80 Anthems challenge, raising money for SOS Children’s Villages.

Everitt is believed to have set a Guinness World Record on Friday, when she sang the Star-Spangled Banner, her 80th anthem, at a baseball game in Washington DC.

On her travels, Everitt sang anthems in 41 languages, across North America, South America, Europe, Oceania, Asia and Africa – even managing Icelandic.

Final anthem in Toronto

According to her website, Everitt has been singing and playing the piano since she was five years old when she started studying at O Music Studios in Vancouver.

She had the idea for the challenge after reading about children living in poverty around the world and felt inspired to help them.

Everitt was accompanied on the journey by her parents, Tom and Kerrie, who usually work in real estate in Vancouver, and her younger brother Bowen.

The family’s travels were sponsored by a variety of companies, including Flight Centre, Facebook and Hootsuite.

SOS Children’s Villages works in 134 countries and has more than 540 children’s villages, where orphaned or abandoned children are offered get a loving home in a safe place.

Everitt will make one final performance in Toronto, at a Blue Jays game against the Minnesota Twins on Friday, August 26, before heading home to Vancouver.

So far, Everitt has raised $24,989 in Canada and $5,400 in the rest of the world, but there’s still time to donate on the Around The World in 80 Anthems website.

Here are some of the best anthems Everitt sang around the world this year:

God Save The Queen

The Glory and the Freedom of Ukraine Has Not Yet Died

March of the Volunteers

God Bless Africa/The Call of South Africa

Hymn/O, God of Our Land
