Honens Festival & Piano Competition

  • What: The festival is 10 days of music-making. Honens searches for the complete pianist, a 21st century artist, from the 10 contestants.
  • Where: Jack Singer Concert Hall, Arts Commons – 205 8 Ave SE, Calgary
  • When: Now through Saturday, September 12, times vary
  • Cost: $460 festival pass, single tickets range in price

The Fate of Dance

  • What: The 34th Annual Alberta Dance Festival will be hosting their production, The Fate of Dance.
  • Where: Victor Mitchell Theatre, Pumphouse Theatre – 2140 Pumphouse Ave SW, Calgary
  • When: Friday, September 11 and Thursday, September 17 to Saturday, September 19 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Cost: $30 and up; $50 for a 2-ticket pass

Inglewood Night Market

  • What: With many vendors, fantastic food trucks and live music the expanded Inglewood Night Market is a must-visit.

The Art of Leadership Calgary 2015

  • What: The Art of Leadership is coming to Calgary on September 11, where five internationally renowned authors and leaders will share their own unique experiences and achievements in the world of leadership.
  • Where: TELUS Convention Centre – 120-9th Avenue South East, Calgary
  • When: Friday, September 11, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Daring Deco 1920s Fashion Show

  • What: Hosting a rare fashion show of the Gardens 1920’s pieces from an extensive private fashion collection. Unique performances, food catered by the restaurant and more will be present.

Circle the Wagons

  • What: BassBus, YYCFoodTrucks and Village Brewery have put together a traveling carnival featuring local food, beer, music, art and performers.

Dino Dash

  • What: Run to fund the University of Calgary Students Dino cross-country and track & field teams.

  • When: Saturday, September 12 at 11 a.m.
  • Cost: $25 to $40

A Fair to Fall For at Willow Park Village

  • What: Shop for Fall at an upscale country market that supports the Women’s Centre of Calgary. There will also be a fashion show, live music, gelato, food trucks, and more.
  • Where: Willow Park Village – 10816 Macleod Tr SE, Calgary
  • When: Saturday, September 12 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Cost: Free

Calgary Mini Maker Faire

  • What: Explore projects that are often hidden away in basements. This event lets creativity be showcased in a fun and hands-on way.
  • Where: TELUS Spark – 220 St Georges Dr NE, Calgary
  • When: Saturday, September 12 to Sunday, September 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Cost: $20 for adult, $18 for Senior (65 and up), $16 Youth (13 to 17), $13 for child (3 to 12) per day. 2-day passes are also available.

Kensington Commons Run for Zambia

  • What: This is the 1st annual run for Zambia. All proceeds will go to help Orphans and vulnerable children in the Kalende community of Zambia.
  • Where: 2404 Kensington Road NW, Calgary
  • When: Saturday, September 12 from 3 to 5 p.m.
  • Cost: $25 per person

Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association Saturday Farmers’ Market

  • What: These markets will be every Saturday rain or shine. They strive for quality foods and goods that are produced from local farmers, food creators and artisans.
  • Where: Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association – 1320 5 Ave NW, Calgary
  • When: now to Saturday, September 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Heritage Park Harvest Sale

  • What: Come support the local community and stock up on healthy fruits and vegetables at low prices. Funds raised will go to support local charities.
  • Where: Green Space in Historical Village at Heritage Park, Calgary.

Princess Prance

  • What: Children’s Wish Foundation presents this enchanted race where everyone gets to be a princess for a day to help grant wishes to children with life threatening illnesses.

  • Cost: $30 for early Bird, $40 for regular and free for kids under 10

Maple Leaf: Monster Jam

  • What: Have a blast watching the Monster Jam Trucks featuring the Grave Digger driven by Cam McQueen, Zombie Driven by Sean Duhon, Monster Mutt Dalmation driven by Cynthia Gauthier and many more.
  • Where: Stampede Grandstand, Calgary
  • When: Saturday September 12 at 6 p.m. and Sunday, September 13 at 1 p.m.

Calgary Hitmen: ‘Dome pre-season game

  • What: The Calgary Hitmen are hosting their first-ever Western Hockey League pre-season game against the Edmonton Oil Kings.
  • Where: Scotiabank Saddledome – 555 Saddledome Rise SE
  • When: Sunday, September 13 at 3 p.m.
  • Cost: $5 for adults and $2 for kids
